Artistic Director of Rithanjali Fine Arts. She is a gold medalist in B.F.A and holds a M. Phil in Bharathanatyam. She has enriched the cultural life of Chennai since 2001 dedicating herself by teaching and performing Bharathanatyam. Her abhinaya speaks volume and she is well known for her high creativity and novelty in presentation. Her visionary is to serve the art aspiring community which made her attempt to open a charitable trust in the name of our Founder and Guru “Ratheesh Krishna Parampara Trust”. Under her leadership and affiliation with “The Tamilnadu Music and Fine Arts University”, she is nurturing dancers by graduating them by grade exams diploma holders in the art of Bharatanatyam.
Sasmitha began learning dance and music from a very young age. At the age of 4, she began her dance journey under the tutelage of Guru Uma Shankar Ram in Charlotte, North Carolina. When she moved to Cleveland - Ohio, Sasmitha continued dancing under Guru Sujatha Srinivasan and now learns under Guru Sophia Ratheesh Krishnan. Throughout the years, she has performed on various stages in and around Cleveland – Ohio, Columbus - Ohio and Charlotte - North Carolina. She has competed in many prestigious competitions, such as the Cleveland Thyagaraja Aradhana, Columbus Vindhya Competition, and Cleveland IndiaFest USA. Recently Sasmitha has received Diploma in Bharatanatyam.
Simultaneously, Sasmitha started learning Carnatic Music under Guru Shanthi Raghavan and now continues under Guru Lalith Subramaniam. She has performed on numerous stages and in various temples around the United States. She has also learned Western music and is a talented instrumentalist. At the age of 12, she was inducted into the Tri-M Music Honor Society for her achievements in music. Along with her talents in music and dance, Sasmitha has cultivated her acting skills as a part of her school's drama troop. From the age of 10, she has performed in many plays in varying genres and has recently been inducted into the International Thespian Society.
Sasmitha is a very well-rounded individual with talents not only in the performing arts but also in sports and academics. She is an avid basketball player with two championships under her belt and was named the most valuable player. Additionally, she is trained in Martial Arts and earned her second-degree black belt in the fall of 2022. In academics, Sasmitha has been a top-ranking student throughout her school years and is an inductee of the prestigious National Honors Society for her scholarship, service, leadership, and character. She also received the Presidential Award from President of USA.
